Here’s some free evening entertainment that comes with a great view – Riverflicks for Grown-Ups at Hudson River Park.  The movies are shown Wednesday nights on the Pier 63 lawn. (Films for kids are shown Fridays on Pier 46).

The Riverflicks for Grown-Ups films are shown at Pier 63 in Chelsea neighborhood of the city at West 23rd Street. It’s not what you’d usually think of as a pier, but more of a big waterfront park. Movies start at dusk, which is usually around 8:30pm.

The theme for this year’s films is “blockbusters of 2012” and includes Argo, The Avengers, Perfect Pitch, and The Hunger Games. See the River Flicks website for the schedule.

You could plan a visit to Chelsea Market and High Line Park while you’re in the area.
