Orchids in the Conservatory

What could be nicer than a sunny conservatory full of beautiful orchids?  Leave the blustery cold weather outside and enjoy a visit to the New York Botanical Gardens annual Orchid Show.  This year’s theme is “Chandeliers” and the orchid display has been designed to highlight the aerial beauty of the orchids with hanging baskets, living columns, and a huge star-shaped chandelier covered with hundreds of plants.  The orchids are on display in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.  The 2015 orchid show runs from February 28 – April 19.

You’ll need to purchase an all-garden pass to attend the orchid show.  The pass gets you entrance to the conservatory, Everett Children’s Adventure Garden, Rock Garden (open April – October), Native Plant Garden, the Tram Tour, and all exhibits open on the day of your visit.  Regular full-price tickets weekend tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for seniors (65+) and student (with ID), $10 for kids 2 – 12, and free for children under 2 years of age.  Weekday tickets are cheaper, with regular price for adults $20, seniors and students $18, children 2 -12 $8, and children under 2 years of age free.

GoldStar has discount tickets to the Orchard Show. They have $17.50 ($20.75 total with fees) weekend tickets and $14.00 ($17.00 total with fees) weekday tickets. See the Goldstar ticket offer.
