chinese-new-yearChinese New Year is January 31, 2014.  Here are some ways to celebrate the Year of the Horse in New York City.

There will be Chinese New Years events on Friday, January 31st at Roosevelt Park, between Grand and Hester Streets.  There will be a firecracker ceremony and an afternoon of traditional and contemporary cultural performances. 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Dance troupes will also parade through the main streets of Chinatown.

There will be a free Dragon Dance performance by Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company and National Dance Institute on February 1st from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on the Lincoln Center Josie Robertson Plaza.

The 15th Annual Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade & Festival takes place on Sunday, February 2nd. The parade begins at the intersection of Mott and Hester Streets and progresses along East Broadway, and up Eldridge to Forsyth.
