The Last Ship”  is a new musical with music and lyrics by Sting, book by John Logan & Brian Yorkey, Choreography by Steven Hoggett, and directed by Joe Mantello.

The story takes place in the English town of Wallsend, where shipbuilding has long been a tradition and source of local pride. The promotional material for the show says it’s “a portrait of a community so bound together by passion, faith and tradition, they’ll stop at nothing to preserve the only life they’ve ever known.”

The show got good reviews during it’s tryout run in Chicago and will open on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theare for preview performances on September 29th.  Opening night is October 26th.
