The Free Tournament before the Tournament

See some of the best tennis players in the world compete at the US Open Qualifying Tournament at Flushing Meadows in Queens, free of charge.

The qualifying tournament is held the week before the U.S. Open, in the same complex  (the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center) where the big tournament is held, and this qualifying tournament is free and open to the public. The tournament, which features 128 player fields for both men and women, determines who gets the last 16 men’s and women’s spots in the U.S. Open.

The 2017 US Open Qualifying Tournament takes place Tuesday, August 22 through Friday, August 25 at Flushing Meadows.

If you attend this free event, you’ll also have an opportunity to watch some of the top players practice in preparation for the Open. Practice courts are open for viewing Monday, August 21 – Sunday August 27.
