    Free “Stars in the Alley” Broadway Concert

    The Broadway League hosts an annual free outdoor concert featuring performances from Broadway’s current musicals call Stars in the Alley. The concert is held around the time of the Tony Awards, usually late May or early June.

    The concert is a great way to see live performances of scenes from current Broadway shows, free of charge.

    The 2018 Stars in the Alley concert is Friday, June 1st at 1:00 p.m. The event is held rain or shine.

    Participating shows for the 2018 event include Aladdin, Anastasia, The Band’s Visit, Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, Chicago, Come From Away, Dear Evan Hansen, Escape to Margaritaville, Frozen, Kinky Boots, Mean Girls, My Fair Lady, Once on This Island, The Phantom of the Opera, School of Rock, SpongeBob SquarePants, Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, Waitress, Wicked, Children of a Lesser God, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, The Play That Goes Wrong, and Saint Joan.   • Get Broadway Rush Tickets Through the TodayTix App

    Several Broadway and Off-Broadway shows have made discount rush tickets available through the TodayTix app. You’ll need to be prepared to do a little promotional social media sharing in exchange for access to the rush tickets, but it provides an alternative to the usual way to get rush tickets, which involves an early-morning line-up at the box office ticket window.

    To start, you’ll need to download and install the TodayTix app.

    You can unlock Rush any time by going to the show’s page in the app and using the “unlock Rush” function to share on social media. Rush opens at 10:00 a.m. ET each performance morning. The tickets are first come first serve, so it’s best to check in right at 10:00 a.m..

    One of the newer introductions to the Broadway landscape has been the digital lottery. At one time, participating in a lottery for a Broadway show meant going to the box office in person, filling out a lottery slip, and waiting for someone to draw names. Now, most shows that offer lotteries have moved them to a digital format, making it easy for anyone with internet access to enter online.

    Ticket lotteries are usually not for free tickets, although occasionally special event lotteries that do provide free tix. Most Broadway lotteries give the lottery winners the opportunity to purchase a limited number of tickets at a deeply discounted price.

    We’ve provided you with a list of digital lotteries for currents shows below.

    If you don’t win the lottery, there are other ways to save money on tickets to Broadway shows. Many shows offer promo code discounts, rush tickets, and discounted tickets through the TKTS booths. See our list of discount options for current shows.

    Aladdin: A limited number of $30 tickets will be available via a daily online lottery.

    How to Enter: The lottery opens for entries at 7:00 p.m. on the day before the performance and closes at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the performance. If you are selected as a winner, you will have 60 minutes to pay for your tickets via credit card. There’s a limit of two tickets per lottery winner. Seat locations are assigned based on availability and at the discretion of the Box Office. Please note, lottery seats may be partial view. Lottery tickets cannot be transferred to other people or to other performances. Available performances will be posted by 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time daily (just after midnight). Matinee lotteries close at 9:00 a.m. and evening lotteries close at 2:00 p.m..   • Rush Tickets Available for Meteor Shower on Broadway

    A limited number of $40 box seat tickets to Meteor Shower will be available on a first-come-first-served basis at the Booth Theatre box office on the day of performance. The tickets must be purchased in person at the box office. There is a two ticket purchase limit per person per performance.

    Theater box office hours are Mondays–Saturdays between 10 AM and 8 PM and Sundays, beginning December 3, from noon until 6 PM.

  • Special Free 20th Anniversary Performance of The Lion King – In Person Lottery Entries

    The Broadway production of The Lion King is celebrating their 20th Anniversary with a special free performance Wednesday, November 15th at 8:00 p.m.. at the Minskoff Theatre

    Tickets for the show will be give away via a special lottery. You must enter the lottery in person on November 12th at the Lion King Times Square Celebration, or one of the other special lottery locations.

    In addition to the lottery, the Times Square celebration will have photo ops, meet & greet with cast members, give-aways, a virtual reality experience, and instructor led drum circles.

    The Lion King 20th Anniversary Lottery Locations. All are for Sunday, November 12th.:
