    About Gulliver’s Gate

    Gulliver’s Gate is a new Times Square NYC attraction featuring a miniature New York City, plus many other locations around the world. The highly detailed and interactive miniatures include moving parts and little hidden scenes (look for the tightrope walkers between the chandeliers at Grand Central Station). Travel & Leisure published a good article about the exhibit in March of 2017. The exhibit has received many good reviews at TripAdvisor.

    The exhibit is large – 50,000 square feet in size – so allow plenty of time for your visit.

    Gulliver’s Gate is located the Times Square area of Manhattan, at 216 W 44th Street (between 7th and 8th Avenues).

  • Free Submarine Growler Exhibit at Pier 86

    The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum has opened a new USS Growler exhibit in celebration of the Growler’s 60th commissioning anniversary. The exhibit, which offers historical artifacts, oral histories and immersive experiences to provide a behind-the-scenes look at life on board, is free to visit. If you wish to board and tour the Growler, Intrepid Museum admission is required.

    The Intrepid Museum and the Growler exhibit are located at Pier 86 on the Hudson River.

    Discount Admission: You can save a few dollars buy purchasing Intrepid Museum tickets through Goldstar. They have Adult General Admission tickets for $24.75 + $4.25 service fee for a total of $29, and Child tickets (ages 5 – 12) for $18.00 + $3.25 service fee for a total of $21.25. Good for admission any day through December 31, 2018. See the offer details.

    Regular price Intrepid Museum general admission is $33 for adults, $31 for seniors (65+), and $24 for children ages 5 – 12. U.S. Military and veterans are admitted free of charge.

    Historic Richmond Town

    Historic Richmond Town is an original town and farm complex that dates back to the 1600s that operated as a historic site and museum that tells the stories life in earlier times.

    There are 30 historic structures at the Richmond Town site, plus more at satellite locations.

    The site is best visited during one of their special days or events. Special events and tours of various themes are conducted regularly to help visitors best experience the site. Upcoming events are listed on  the Historic Richmond Town website.

    The Historic Richmond Town museum complex is located in the neighborhood of Richmondtown near the center of Staten Island, at the intersection of Richmond Road and Arthur Kill Road.

    The regular admission fee is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students (ages 12 – 17), and $5 for children ages 4 – 11.

  • Space & Science Festival at the Intrepid Museum and Pier 86

    The 2017 Space and Science Festival takes place August 1 – 6 at Pier 86 and the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum.

    The event features special exhibits and presentations by NASA.

    Events held at Pier 86 (except for the Drones exhibition) are free. Most of the free activities at Pier 86 happen on the weekend, when there are displays and activities by NASA, Intrepid Education Zone, FIRST, Con Edison, Honeybee Robotics, Brooklyn Robot Foundry, LEGO, USA Today Network VR experience, Google’s Code Next, Space.com, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Jupiter Joe’s Sidewalk Astronomy, Kuiper Kat’s Astronomy, Sierra Nevada Corporation, Heinlein Prize Trust, Brooklyn Drones NYC and the Drone Racing League.

    The Brooklyn Museum is hosting a special Georgia O’keefe exhibit, displaying the artist’s wardrobe alongside her paintings and photographs. The exhibit, title Georgia O’Keefe: Living Modern, examines how the artist proclaimed her progressive, independent lifestyle through a self-crafted public persona—including her clothing and the way she posed for the camera.

    The O’Keefe exhibit runs through July 23, 2017.

    Admission to the O’Keefe exhibit is through timed ticket. Regular ticket price is $20 ($12.00 for seniors and students). A specially-priced teen discount is available, with $6.00 admission for those ages 12 – 19.

    Target First Saturdays Discount

    Tickets for the Georgia O’Keefe Exhibit are reduced to $12 during Target First Saturdays. The First Saturday date for July is July 1st.

    Museum and Garden Combo

    If you’d also like to visit the Brooklyn Botanic Garden while you’re in the neighborhood, a specially priced combo ticket is available which provides entrance to the garden and the exhibit for $25 ($16 for seniors and students).

    Extended Friday and Saturday hours from July 7 through July 23 are 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m..
