Arlo SoHo

The Arlo SoHo features micro-sized rooms with modern design. Rooms average just 150 square feet in size.

• Good Reviews: The hotel gets good reviews at TripAdvisor, with an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. It’s one of the top 100 best-rated hotels in NYC.
• Affordable Rates: Rates at the Arlo SoHo vary by the day of the week and time of year. We found the cheapest rates on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with some Sunday rates under $200.
• Soho Location:The SoHo location is little ways away from major attractions. City Winery, a popular spot for live music is nearby. Nearby subway stations are helpful for getting to the rest of the city. A trip to Times Square from the hotel via subway takes about 20 minutes.
• Rooftop Bar: The hotel’s rooftop bar has a view of the Lower Manhattan skyline and Hudson River.

The Lex NYC

The Lex NYC is a small boutique hotel in the NoMad neighborhood of Midtown Manhattan.

• Good Reviews: The hotel gets good reviews at TripAdvisor, with an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars and a Top 50 ranking in New York City.
• Affordable Rates: We found rates for The Lex to vary significantly by day of the week and time of year, so you’ll get the best deals if you can be flexible about your travel dates. We spotted some rates just under or over $200 a night. The average seems to be in the $220 to $280 range, with lowest rates on Sundays and Fridays. The best deals can be found during the off season (July – August & January – February).
• Good Location: The Lex NYC is located at 67 Lexington Avenue, between 25th and 26th Streets in what’s known as Manhattan’s NoMad neighborhood (north of Madison Square Park).  Madison Square Park is nearby. The hotel is in a good, central location for exploring NYC.

Distrikt Hotel New York City Times Square

The Distrikt Hotel New York City Times Square is boutique hotel with a good location and reasonable rates.

• Good Reviews: The hotel gets good reviews at TripAdvisor, with an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.
• Affordable Rates: The Distrikt Hotel regularly has rooms available for around $220 a night. There doesn’t seem to be as much day-of-the-week rate variation with this hotel as with others, although Sunday rates are consistently the lowest. We spotted Sunday rates under $200. As with most NYC hotels, rates are best during the “off” months (July – August and January – February).
• Good Location: The hotel is located on 40th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues. It’s southwest of the heart of the Times Square theater district. The location is convenient to Times Square, restaurants in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, and Bryant Park.
• Amenities: Rooms come with free WiFi, fridge, and a Keurig coffee system.

Pod 39 Hotel

The Pod 39 Hotel is a Midtown East hotel which features small but efficient rooms at reasonable prices.

• Good Reviews: The hotel gets good reviews at TripAdvisor, with an average rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
• Affordable Rates: POD 39 has some very affordable rates, however the rates vary by day of the week and time of year. We saw rates from $105 to $225 a night for Single PODs. Sunday rates were consistently the lowest, Fridays and Saturdays the highest.
• Good Location:POD 39 is located at 145 E 39th Street, in Murray Hill, on the eastern side of Midtown Manhattan. Grand Central Terminal, the Chrysler Building, United Nations Headquarters, New York Public Library, and Bryant Park at all nearby.
• Single PODs and Bunk PODs: POD  rooms come in a variety of configurations. POD 39 has single PODS available, providing a good option for solo travelers. Bunk bed PODs are great for friends traveling together. More conventional double and queen PODS are also available. All of the POD rooms are small and range from 90 square feet to 140 square feet in size.
• Rooftop Lounge: POD 39 has a rooftop lounge and seasonal bar for hotel guests.

• Affordable Rates: Rates vary by time of year and day of the week. We found rates as low as $199 in August and as high as $309 in September. Sundays and Mondays seem to be the best deals.
• Little Italy Location: The 196 Grand Street location is in the Little Italy neighborhood of Lower Manhattan. Chinatown is nearby. Many dining options within walking distance. Subway stations nearby.

• Times Square Area Location: The 340 West 40th Street location is about a block and a half from the heart of activity at Times Square.
• Studio Suites: Studio suites have have kitchens equipped with stove, microwave, toaster, refrigerator, ice-maker, dishwasher, pots & pans, and dishes.
• Complimentary Breakfast: Free breakfast is served daily, and a free evening social hour with complimentary food and drink is held Tuesday – Thursday.

CitizenM is a Times Square hotel located at 218 West 50th Street, between Broadway and 8th Avenue.

Room are small but modern and comfortable.  Most of the room is occupied by a big king-sized bed.  All the rooms are the same, with one king-size bed.

If you need some extra space to relax in, the hotel has a “living room” styled lobby with comfortable seating and books and magazines to look at.

Food and beverages are available 24 hours a day at their CanteenM.  There’s also a roof-top bar.
