The K2 Friday Night events also feature free guided exhibition highlights tours that encourage close observation and conversation.

Seniors are admitted free on the first Monday of each month.

    The Rubin Museum of Art

The Rubin Museum of Art features art from the Himalayas, India, and neighboring regions and seeks to engage visitors in a way that encourages personal discovery and connection with other cultures.

The museum has five gallery floors which display permanent collections and special exhibitions.

The Rubin Museum, which opened in 20014, is a relatively new addition to New York City’s collection of art museums. The museum started with a private collection of Himalayan art held by Donald and Shelley Rubin. The Rubins purchased the former Barneys New York building in 1998 and it was transformed into a modern art gallery space for display of the museum’s collections and traveling exhibitions.
