    Free Walking Tours of Greenwich Village

    The Village Alliance offers free guided walking tours of Greenwich Village each Saturday from June through September.

    The tour begins at St. Marks Place and ends near the corner of West 8th Street and Sixth Avenue. You’ll learn about Greenwich village along the way and see Village landmarks such as the residences of Any Warhol, Lou Reed, and Jackson Pollock, Jimi Hendrix’s studios, and more.

    Start time for the tours is 11:30 a.m.. Meet at St. Marks Church on the northwest corner of Second Avenue and East 10th Street. Guides will be holding a Village Alliance Walking Tour sign.

    The tour lasts about an hour and a half and run rain or shine.

    The tours are free. No reservations required.

  • Free Historic Flatiron District Walking Tours

    Free Flatiron District Tours

    The Flatiron 23rd Street Partnership sponsors free walking tours every Sunday.

    The tours start at 11:00 a.m and depart from the southwest corner of Madison Square Park, at 23rd Street and Broadway. No advance registration is required.

    Professional guides will walk you through the Flatiron neighborhood (wear comfortable shoes) and you’ll learn about the area’s history and architecture. Well-known landmarks in the Flatiron District include the New York Life Insurance Building, the MetLife Clock Tower, the Appellate Courthouse, and the Flatiron Building.

    The tour lasts 90 minutes.

    woolworthFor many years, access to the Woolworth Building was restricted to people who work there. Now tours of the building’s spectacular lobby are offered to small groups of visitors.

    Half-hour tours of the Woolworth Building are regularly $20, one-hour tours are $30, and ninety-minute tours are  $45 .  The 30-minute tour includes the lobby. The 60-minute tour includes the lobby and the lower level. The 90-minute tour includes the lobby, lower level, and mezzanine.  Tour discounts are listed below.
