Guaranteed & Non-Guaranteed Tickets
There are two types of tickets available for The Daily Show, Guaranteed tickets and Non-Guaranteed tickets. Both are available through the same online reservation process. The guaranteed tickets get booked up first, but grab one of those if you get a chance. Tip: Sometimes people with the guaranteed tickets cancel at the last minute, so keep checking back at the ticket website to see if any guaranteed spots become available.
If you have a guaranteed ticket, you are guaranteed to have a seat in the audience as long as you show up by the appointed time.
Those with non-guaranteed tickets are admitted on a first-come-first-served basis. If all the seats fill up before they get to your spot in line, you might not get into the show.
One Ticket, Four People
The Daily Show handles tickets a little differently from other shows. One person applies for a ticket through the online reservation system and then that person can bring up to three guests (for a total of four people). The guests have to be with the ticket-holder at the time of check-in. You specify the number of tickets you want (up to four) during the online reservation process, but only supply one name.
Check-in time for people with guaranteed tickets is from 4:30 to 5:00 p.m.. If you don’t check in by 5:00, you’ll forfeit your guaranteed seat.
Check-in time for people with non-guaranteed tickets starts at 5:00 p.m.. People are admitted to the show in the order of their place in line at check-in, so those near the front of the line have the best chance of getting a seat for the show.
Location
The studio is located at 733 11th Avenue (between 51st and 52nd Streets) in Manhattan.

Free Boat Rides
A variety of companies and organizations offer free boat tours on City of Water Day. Rides are offered on all kinds of boats, such as ferries, tall ships, fire boats, and tugboats.
If you want to take one of the free boat tours, you’ll need to reserve you tickets in advance. Boat tour reservations open in the end of June, so keep an eye on the Waterfront Alliance website for announcements.
Although the boat tours are free, there is a refundable $5 reservation fee per passenger. If you show up and take the tour, the fee will be credited back to you. If you don’t check in for the tour, you’ll lose the reservation fee.
Cardboard Boat Race
One of the fun Governors Island activities is the cardboard boat race.
Teams need to pre-register during the spring to compete, but if you’re not on one of the teams building a boat, you can still have fun watching the competition. The teams have two hours to build a boat out of cardboard, which they’ll then race on the waters off Governors Island. The races begin at 2:30. We like the part of the regulations that says, “Boats that disintegrate mid-race will be disqualified.”
