  • New York Philharmonic Free Concerts in the Parks

    June 15 – 22 – New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks – Each summer the New York Philharmonic puts on a series of free concerts in city parks. This year’s concerts are in Central Park (June 15 & 16), Prospect Park in Brooklyn (June 17), Cunningham Park in Queens (June 20), Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx ( June 21), and at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Gardens Music Hall on Staten Island ( June 22).  All concerts begin at 8:00 p.m.. There will be fireworks following the concerts in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx.

    The program for the concerts includes Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, with Principal Clarinet Anthony McGill; Richard Strauss’s Ein Heldenleben; and music by Beethoven, Wagner, and Rossini. And Staten Island audiences will enjoy Concertmaster Frank Huang as soloist in Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons and Vivaldi-inspired tango music.

    A couple discount options are available for ticket to NYC’s popular cabaret club, Feinstein’s 54 Below.

    Goldstar often has discount tickets available for upcoming shows at 54 Below.

    Student rush tickets are available for select performances, while supplies last.

    Rush tickets are half off the door sale price and they’re available at the box office 30 minutes before show time. Cash purchases only and there’s a limit of two tickets per valid college or high school ID. The food and beverage minimum purchase requirement still applies.

     

    Minimum Order Requirement

    Please note that in addition to the performance ticket charge at Feinstein’s/54 Below, there is a food and beverage minimum order requirement of $25.

     

    Feinstein’s 54 Below

    Feinstein’s/54 Below (formerly known as just 54 Below) is a cabaret venue and restaurant owned by a group of Broadway producers.  It’s the place to go to see cabaret-style entertainment by both Broadway and non-Broadway singers.   • Central Park Great Jazz on the Great Hill 2015

    Enjoy an afternoon of free jazz music and swing dancing in Central Park on August 8th, 2015, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. Great Jazz on the Great Hill 2015 takes place on Central Park’s Great Hill (enter the park at 106th Street and Central Park West).  The Great Hill is an open hilltop surrounded by trees. It’s located in the upper western side of the park.

    There will be music by the George Gee Swing Orchestra, King Solomon Hicks Blues Quintet, Legendary Blues Guitarist Ray Schinnery, Blues Vocalist Ebony Jo-Ann, and others.

    A variety of food trucks will be on hand.

    The event is free and there are no tickets required.

  • Late Night Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Dizzy’s Club $5 Cover

    Want to hear some good jazz in a beautiful setting for just a $5 cover charge? Head on over to Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola at the Lincoln Center Jazz venue for a Tuesday or Wednesday late night session.

    Dizzy’s Club has large windows with great views looking out over central park and the Manhattan skyline.  Enjoy the lights of New York City while you enjoy live music performed by talented up-and-coming jazz musicians.

    Late night sessions start at 11:30 pm.  No reservations are necessary.  Tuesdays and Wednesdays are a great deal with $5 cover charge.

    There are also late night sessions on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, but the cover charge is higher. $10 on Thursday and Friday, and $20 on Saturday.  Student cover charge is $10 Tuesday – Friday, and $10 on Saturdays.
